Pakistani national, Younis Khan, has been named the best truck driver in the UAE at an event hosted by Al-Futtaim Auto & Machinery Company (FAMCO).

He was awarded the honours following the 2018 Volvo Trucks Driver Challenge, which in the UAE, saw 35 drivers from across the Emirates showcasing their driving skills over four days.

Khan, who works at a Ras Al Khaimah-based company, completed 50km, and was named Volvo’s best truck driver in the UAE. In second place was Khalil Hamza, from Sharjah, and the third runner-up was Marcello Penamante from Fujairah.

Following his win, FAMCO will fly Khan to Sweden, where he will compete with 42 top drivers from other countries at the Volvo Trucks Experience Centre in Gothenburg, for global honours.
