Saudi Arabia and UAE are among the Gulf's largest construction markets, and the volume of work under way in both markets is generating numerous job opportunities as well.
Among building contractors, Dubai will remain the “bright spot” of the GCC’s construction sector, thanks to the sheer number of project opportunities relative to other regional markets, Deloitte revealed this February.
Meanwhile, more mixed-use projects are being planned for Saudi, and its Ministry of Housing is also exploring a project to build 100,000 homes in the next seven years.

Resident engineer – viaduct bridges
Parsons Corporation needs a resident engineer specialised in viaduct bridges to support its work on the Riyadh Metro project.
Parsons, Egis, and Systra, are part of the Riyadh Metro Transit Consultants (RMTC) team, which is providing project and construction management (PMCM) services for transportation megaproject.
Parsons’ resident engineer will independently perform all aspects of field engineering assignments, including development of plans, schedules, contracts, procedures, systems, and construction methods.
Asset management consultant – water
Atkins Global requires an asset management consultant specialised in water systems to join its team in Riyadh.
The candidate will deliver projects for water and wastewater clients in Saudi Arabia – mainly National Water Company (NWC) and Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) – as well as other regional clients, especially since GCC countries are currently carrying out major revamps of their water-based organisations.
Candidates for the asset management consultant job should have a blend of technical, economic, financial, audit, and project management skills to win and deliver projects.
Gensler requires a project architect to join its team in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The appointed architect will manage client, team and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape and civil consultants.
A minimum of six years’ project experience in an architectural practice is required for the role.
Senior engineer – production
AW Rostamani requires a senior engineer to join its team in Dubai.
The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing products based on customer specifications or requests by the sales department.
They will also work with suppliers and factory personnel, and be responsible for the integration of materials, methods, and tools necessary to bring new products to the company portfolio.
CADD operator – pipeline
Wood Group requires a computer automated design and drafting (CADD) Saudi national operator to join its team in Al Khobar.
The candidate must have experience in the hydrocarbon processing/utilities units, the oil/gas industry or refinery project/process industries, in addition to drafting experience in piping/ pipeline projects.
At least four years’ experience is required for the role.
Construction manager / desalination plant resident engineer
HDR requires a construction manager to take responsibility for subcontractor coordination, scheduling and quality control, and develop procedures for executing such activities, in addition to implementing procedures in coordination with the project team.
The manager will also be responsible for project setup and temporary facilities.
More than 10 years of experience in various aspects of construction planning and management, including estimating, bidding, preparing and administering purchase orders and subcontracts, scheduling, and cost control, is required for the role.
El Seif is hiring a contracts manager in Riyadh.
The candidate will be responsible for administrating the contract management process from contract development to contract closing; ensuring that all projects are being carried out in adherence to contractual requirements in respect of time and budget, quantity, and quality; and resolving contractual matters and claims.
A degree in quantity surveying is required for the job, in addition to 15 years of experience in contract administration for large-scale projects.
The contracts manager must also be proficient in written and spoken English and Arabic.
Rail systems manager
The pipeline and opportunities for strategic and major projects in the UAE for Atkins's Transport & Infrastructure (T&I) division are significant.
An opportunity exists for a driven, ambitious, and self-motivated person to take a critical role in growing Atkins T&I Rail Business across Saudi Arabia.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Saudi Arabian clients of T&I to win work in the region's rail sector.
Koa Real Estate Development is looking for an experienced project engineer to lead and manage the site team and ensure that all parties involved have a clear understanding of the contract and the applicable obligations.
The engineer will be required to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment to plan and coordinate all aspects of the building process from hiring contractors to working with engineers, architects, and vendors.
Between 10 and 12 years of construction management experience, as well as a civil engineering degree or an equivalent training record, are required for the role.
Principal project manager
Atkins Global is looking to recruit a nuclear-experienced project manager to work on complex organisational and technical projects from its Abu Dhabi office.
The appointed manager will be responsible for standard delivery expectations such as reporting, safety leadership, risk management, schedule oversight, and client management.
Eight years of professional experience is required for the job, of which at least one year must have been spent on nuclear projects.
