The 350-key resort is due to open in late-2019, and will feature luxury rooms and suites, in addition to amenities such as restaurants, health clubs, a gym, and swimming pools.

Commenting on the contract award, Michael James, director at Currie & Brown, said: “Our strong experience in the hotel industry will help to bring significant added-value to this project.”

Mohammad Sultan Al Qadi, managing director of RAK Properties, added: “The InterContinental will boost Mina Al Arab’s offering as a top tourist destination in the UAE, and we are confident that this partnership will continue to set the bar.”

The InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah Mina Al Arab Resort will neighbour RAK Properties’ Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort. Both properties are expected to help the UAE emirate meet its goal of attracting 2.9 million visitors by 2025.
