Tunnel digging will commence under Sheikh Zayed Road, with a depth of 15 metres while another pipe network will be extended to Al Batha Tower.

The extension will also include other projects across the city in Dubai Healthcare City, Jumeirah Village South, Dubailand, Cityland, and Dubai Science Park.

Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, said: “Pipe networks are a vital part of the district cooling system as it works on the transfer of chilled water from the district cooling plants to the buildings.

“Empower is committed to use the latest technologies to ensure the best cooling quality within the pipes, without being affected by external factors, such as the summer heat.”

Empower’s recent project portfolio includes Dubai Arena, and will provide a load of 3,600 Refrigeration Tonnes (RT) for that project. Empower also signed an agreement with Wasl Properties, to supply Al Wasl Tower with a load of 3,900 RT.
