Work begins on two educational facilities worth $23m in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) has started construction work on two kindergarten facilities at Al Falah worth more than $23m (AED85m)

Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) has started construction work on two kindergarten facilities at Al Falah worth more than $23m (AED85m).

The project is being undertaken in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) across a total built-up area of approximately 11,000m2. The two facilities are also part of Package 1 of Phase 8 of Abu Dhabi Future Schools Programme (ADFSP).

The first facility is being built at a total value of about $12m (AED44.4m) over a built-up area of approximately 5,000m2.

It comprises a ground-floor building that consists of 18 classrooms, accommodating 360 male and female students, in addition to an administration building, a students’ rest lobby, offices for teaching and administrative staff, outdoor playgrounds, landscapes and car and bus parking bays.

The second building includes a ground-floor building that also consists of 18 classrooms that will accommodate 360 male and female students, in addition to an administration building, a students’ rest lobby, offices for teachers, outdoor playgrounds, landscapes and parking bays.

The total built-up area is estimated to be around 5,000m2 with a total value of approximately $11m (AED40.6m).

The two facilities have attained a 2-pearl sustainability rating from the Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities in Abu Dhabi.

Saleh Al Ali, Musanada’s Building Construction Management Division, education portfolio director, said: "The work in the two projects is progressing as per the planned programmes, as part of Musanada’s efforts to contribute to achievement of the objectives of Abu Dhabi Plan, by engaging in preparing and upbringing of a promising generation with the necessary knowledge tools to take part in serving the country and the community, and enabling students by sharpening their skills and capabilities to enhance their innovation competences.”
