The UAE's Ministry of Infrastructure Development will use CSCEC ME's expertise to enhance government-backed projects in the Emirates
The UAE government and China State Construction Engineering Corporation Middle East (CSCEC ME) are in talks to collaborate on infrastructure and road projects.
Cabinet member HE Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, the UAE's Minister of Infrastructure Development, met the president and chief executive officer of CSCEC ME, Yu Tao, on Wednesday, 18 July, to discuss "joint cooperation" in the area, WAM reported.
The minster reportedly wanted to seek China's expertise in various fields broadly connected to construction innovation, with the UAE keen to enhance the quality of its infrastructure nationwide.
Tao is reported to have been pleased with the progress of the meeting, and expressed his enthusiasm for supporting government projects, such as the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, with the latest infrastructure innovations.
CSCEC ME's portfolio of infrastructure projects includes Emirates Road, steel works for Abu Dhabi's Midfield Terminal Building, and the new headquarters for National Bank Kuwait, which was completed in 2016.
