Nakheel delivers $16m Pavilion at Dubai’s Badrah community
Nakheel has completed a retail pavilion for people living in its affordable housing community Badrah
A $16.3m (AED60m) shop and cafe complex called the Pavilion has been completed by Dubai developer Nakheel.
More than 800 households in Nakheel's Badrah and Veneto residential communities will now have access to the 6,600m² local shopping space.
A Carrefour supermarket spanning more than 740m² has already opened, and a further 26 shops and food outlets will follow. There is also a car park with space for up to 270 vehicles.
A mosque, swimming pool and gym are also in the pipeline to improve amenities in Badrah, an affordable housing community in Jebel Ali with 45,000 units.
The Pavilion will be operated by Nakheel Malls. It is the sixth in its growing collection of Pavilions, complementing others in Jumeirah Park, Jumeirah Islands, Discovery Gardens, International City, and Al Furjan, where a second is under construction.
Meanwhile, Nakheel recently paid host to a delegation from the Korea Financial Investment Association (KOFIA), which is visiting Dubai to assess investment opportunities in the emirate.
Nakheel chairman Ali Rashid Lootah told KOFIA about the master developer's planned projects – such as The Pointe and Palm 360 – and real estate opportunities. He also gave gold palm, symbolising Nakheel’s flagship Palm Jumeirah project, to the chairman of KOFIA, Yong-Won Kwon.
