Abu Dhabi has digitised 11 services related to spatial planning and tenancy contract registration.

The Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities (DUPM) in Abu Dhabi operates Smart Hub, the platform that supports the municipality’s digitisation scheme.

DUPM aims to achieve 100% migration to online services by the end of this year through the scheme.

11 digital services have recently been launched across within Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM), Al Ain Municipality, and Al Dhafra Municipality as part of this drive.

Rashid Ahmed Al Mazrouei, director of development and improvement of the procedures division of Al Dhafra Municipality, said DUPM had launched four spatial services and three others related to community works.

He continued: “The digital spatial services consist of providing coordinates of land plot service, spatial data service, and the issuance of paper and digital maps service.

“Community digital services include the facility of booking public services such as beaches, playgrounds, and parks.”

Four other digital services related to tenancy contract registrations, which will no longer require staff support, have also been rolled out.

Salama Al Dhahri, director of the tenancy contracts attestation scheme at Al Ain City Municipality, said that under the new digital system, individual landlords can activate online attestation services through the website and pay fees.

“Thus, they can start using the service without visiting municipality offices [for activation],” Al Dhahri added.

“Property owners can apply for the listing of leasable units without the need to visit the municipality offices. The property owner will receive a text message subsequently confirming the request, and upon completion of the application, the client will receive another text message about registering the listed property and paying the fees through the website.”

Since April, 39 digital services have been launched by DUPM, with digitsation at the organisation increasing from 35% to 65% following the launch of Phase 1 of the programme.

In a statement, ADM said the digital services had been launched as part of a digital transformation under way at the department, as directed by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Chairman of the Executive Council.
