Hitches and Glitches inks agreement with home security firm Ring

The UAE-headquartered company, which forms part of Farnek Group, will initially offer Ring’s security solutions to its database of over 10,000 homeowners and tenant across the UAE

Dubai-based tech firm Hitches & Glitches (H&G) will sell and install home security products, developed by Ring, in residences across the UAE following an agreement announced on Sunday.

The collaboration will see H&G retail, through its online store, and install Ring’s floodlight cam, the first motion-activated security camera with two-way audio, HD video, built-in floodlights and a siren.

The spotlight cam battery, a long-lasting battery powered HD camera with two-way audio and a siren, as well as the spotlight cam wired with two-way talk and a siren solution also fall under the cooperation agreement.

The award-winning Ring Video Doorbell 2, which provides a live view of any doorway and includes adjustable motion sensors and night vision, will also be sold and installed.

According to H&G, a pilot program with the Los Angeles Police Department in the US proved the doorbell was able to reduce crime in an LA neighbourhood by over 55%.
