Hitches and Glitches inks agreement with home security firm Ring
The UAE-headquartered company, which forms part of Farnek Group, will initially offer Ring’s security solutions to its database of over 10,000 homeowners and tenant across the UAE
Dubai-based tech firm Hitches & Glitches (H&G) will sell and install home security products, developed by Ring, in residences across the UAE following an agreement announced on Sunday.
The collaboration will see H&G retail, through its online store, and install Ring’s floodlight cam, the first motion-activated security camera with two-way audio, HD video, built-in floodlights and a siren.
The spotlight cam battery, a long-lasting battery powered HD camera with two-way audio and a siren, as well as the spotlight cam wired with two-way talk and a siren solution also fall under the cooperation agreement.
The award-winning Ring Video Doorbell 2, which provides a live view of any doorway and includes adjustable motion sensors and night vision, will also be sold and installed.
According to H&G, a pilot program with the Los Angeles Police Department in the US proved the doorbell was able to reduce crime in an LA neighbourhood by over 55%.
H&G, the UAE-headquartered company which forms part of Farnek Group, will initially offer Ring’s security solutions to its database of over 10,000 homeowners and tenant across the UAE – initially targeting those in residential areas, particularly villas, and those with freehold and leaseholds.
Mohammad Meraj Hoda, Ring’s vice president of business development, Middle East, said: “In recent years, in the Middle East, and like elsewhere in the world, people are no longer depending on just others to provide safety to their homes, families, and neighbourhoods.
“They are taking home security into their own hands to help protect and secure their family and property Partnering with local service providers like H&G helps us expand our reach and makes Ring’s home security solutions more readily available to homeowners in the UAE.”
