Saudi Arabia is intensifying its efforts to bolster its construction credentials, with ambitious projects such the $500bn (SAR1.9tn) Neom complex and the 334km2 Qiddiya entertainment city taking up much of the spotlight as the kingdom looks to diversify economically. Project / construction manager
Dar Consulting Engineers

Dar Consulting Engineers seeks a civil construction/ project manager to work on a project management contract in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The ideal candidate, the Saudi consultancy said, will have a solid background that demonstrates experience in “project management consultancy for construction projects”.

Project director
El Seif

The Jeddah-based engineering contractor El Seif is seeking an experienced project director to handle responsibility for the delivery, profitability, and quality of an unnamed project by overseeing and managing all policies and procedures related to its operations, among other duties.

The role is based in the kingdom’s capital Riyadh.

With 12 years’ of experience in project management, of which at least seven in a managerial position, the candidate must hold at BSc in Civil Engineering and must be proficient in written and spoken English and Arabic.

Construction manager
Al Rashid Trading & Contracting Co. (RTCC)

Homegrown Riyadh-based contractor, Al Rashid Trading and Co, is looking for a construction manager to join its ranks. The ideal candidate must hold qualifications in civil engineering with a minimum of 10 years’ experience.

A crucial stipulation is the candidate must have previous experience of working with state-run oil giant Saudi Aramco.

Rail systems manager
Atkins

Atkins’ is looking for a ‘driven, ambitious and self-motivated’ candidate to join its transport and infrastructure (T&I) division as a rail systems manager.

The successful candidate will work closely with T&I's Saudi clients in wining work in the region for the rail sector.

Required is a minimum of 20 years’ experience in a similar role – with emphasis on railway operation and maintenance – or experience working in a similar role, with a strong technical railway background.

The candidate should have work experience in Saudi Arabia or another GCC country and hold at least a master's in engineering or equivalent.

Principal project engineer
Parsons

Parsons is looking for a principal project civil engineer to work on a project in the port city of Yanbu in Western Saudi Arabia.

They will be responsible for managing designs and preparing technical request for proposals (RFPs), among other key duties.

The ideal candidate must old a BSc in Engineering with at least 12 to 15 years’ direct industry experience.

Within this, they must have demonstrate a minimum five years’ experience in project/design management, and a minimum of five years’ hands-on design experience in roads and gradings design.

Ability in written and spoken English is essential.

Senior architect
Louis Berger

Louis Berger needs a senior architect to join its team working on a project management and supervision services contract for a heritage style hotel in Saudi’s capital Riyadh - only recently awarded to the US firm.

The ideal candidate will lead the architectural team to ensure accurate and timely review of project submissions, coordinating with other disciplines as well.

Other duties include liaising with client representatives, contractors, site engineers, and sub-contractors on issues related to architectural works.

Wood Group

Wood Group is seeking a senior planner or a planning engineer to join its team in Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia who will report directly to the lead planner in the role.

Applicants must be Saudi Arabian citizens, with about six or more years’ experience in planning and cost control activities associated with an EPC or GES+ engineering company.

Facilities engineer
Eram Engineering

Saudi oil and gas contractor Eram Engineering is looking for a facilities engineer to join its team in Saudi city Jeddah.

Candidates must be able to physically conduct random inspections of all support facilities as required, and demonstrate maturity and excellence in communication.

Strong oral and written Arabic and English communication skills are also a must given the role is highly customer-oriented. A professional and tactful manner is a necessity too.

Mechanical inspector
Dar Al Riyadh

Engineering consultancy Dar Al Riyadh is looking for a mechanical inspector to undertake supervision duties on a Riyadh site – to ensure general compliance of the works with shop drawings, specification and contract requirement.

The ideal candidate will coordinate all aspects of submittals, review and approvals against contract requirements, and when applicable report and advise on deviations.

A mechanical engineering diploma and a total of five years’ experience, including three in infrastructural projects, are required.

Senior resident construction engineer
Parsons

Parsons needs a senior resident structural engineer for a project in Saudi's southwestern port city of Jizan.

Key responsibilities include the planning, scheduling, supervising, and undertaking of administrative duties across all field engineering works.

A four year degree in engineering or construction-related field, or equivalent construction-related work experience, is a must.

Up to two years’ experience in field construction is also requested of the right candidate.
