Emaar Hospitality Group, a part of the UAE’s Emaar Properties, has named a director to lead its work at the Expo 2020 Dubai site.
Alma Au Yeung has been promoted to corporate director of strategic projects and partnerships at Emaar Hospitality Group. In her new role, she will lead the company’s “strategic partnership with Expo 2020 Dubai”, according to a press statement.
Yeung will help Emaar Hospitality Group deliver as Expo 2020 Dubai’s official hotel and hospitality partner, and will be tasked with planning, managing, and implementing private clubs, food and beverage outlets, and catering hubs within the expo site.

The firm described her as an integral part of the Emaar Properties team, having worked on the opening of Burj Khalifa, Dubai Fountain, and Dubai Mall.
Commenting on her appointment, Yeung said: “The new role places a strong responsibility to lead the team and ensure that our services are impeccable and seamless, meeting the aspirations of visitors prior to and during Expo 2020 Dubai.
“We will deploy our best resources and strategic planning and implementation competencies to deliver on our mandate.”
Olivier Harnisch, chief executive officer of Emaar Hospitality Group, added: “Alma has a wealth of experience in planning and managing high-level events of Emaar and Emaar Hospitality Group, which puts her in good stead in leading our dedicated team for the event.”
