UAE-headquartered consultancy AESG has recorded another milestone in its international expansion with the hire of Alan Rowell as its UK country director in London. The company said it expects Rowell’s appointment to support its growth in the UK and EU construction markets.

Additionally, AESG is hoping to capitalise on its UK presence to improve regulatory adoption in the Middle East and beyond, since the country’s codes are often adapted for local use in the region.

“The realities of climate change, political and economic uncertainty, sustainability and carbon management have defined the UK construction sector in recent years,” Saeed Al Abbar, director at AESG, said.

“These are challenges which demand a new approach and AESG can provide a fully coordinated team of specialist consultants to deliver a unique offering in this market. At the same time, the London office will work closely with our Dubai headquarters, to deliver projects across Europe and the Middle East.

“Alan brings a wealth of expertise in multidiscipline projects which will no doubt lead to our success in this objective,” Al Abbar added.

Rowell has more than 30 years of industry experience across the UK, Europe, Middle and Far East, India, North Africa, and China. In his early days at AESG UK, he will work with architects and customers, such as developers and owners, to address their major requirements.
