Lulu and Waterfront Market to build hypermarket in Dubai's Deira
The 5,110sqm hypermarket will “provide customers and the Deira community with a wide range of competitive and quality home products”
Ithra Dubai’s subsidiary, The Waterfront Market, has inked an agreement with UAE’s Lulu Group to open a 5,110m2 hypermarket in Dubai suburb Deira.
According to a statement, the Lulu Hypermarket in the 12ha Waterfront Market will “provide customers and the Deira community with a wide range of competitive and quality home products”.
The market will open in January 2019.
Located at the intersection of Al Khaleej Road and Abu Hail Street on the Deira Corniche, and overlooking the Deira Islands, The Waterfront Market is one of the largest food markets in the region with dedicated fresh food sections.
Commenting on the move, Issam Galadari, chief executive officer of Ithra Dubai, said the firm’s partnership with Lulu Group “is a major new development which serves to position both brands as the ideal family shopping destination”.
He added: “The retail sector remains one of the most robust markets in the region and we are strategically positioned to offer product quality and variety at the best market value while improving our visitors’ shopping experience.”
Retail chain Lulu is one of the most visible names in the region’s retail space, with more than 150 stores spread across the GCC, Egypt, India, and the Far East.
