Construction activities will begin for Dubai Holding’s Madinat Jumeirah Living luxury residential project in 2019, it has been confirmed. The project is located within the Madinat Jumeirah district, opposite Dubai’s architectural landmark, Burj Al Arab.

Ground will break on the 35.8ha multi-phase project in 2019, with Phase 1 due to complete 30 months later. The project will feature gated residential clusters, a community centre, retail areas, and residential amenities such as day care centres, concierge services, basement and visitor parking, and swimming pools.

Madinat Jumeirah Living will also feature “kilometres of shaded walkways [and] jogging and cycling paths”, in addition to an “air-conditioned pedestrian footbridge directly connected to Madinat Jumeirah”, the developer said.

The project will be one of the several high-profile developments that dot this part of Dubai’s coastline, such as Marsa Al Arab, as well as the properties of Dubai Holding’s company Jumeirah, including Al Qasr, Mina Al Salam, Dar Al Masyaf, and the Wild Wadi water park. Dubai Holding said the development “is located where Jumeirah Beach Road and Umm Suqeim Road meet, opposite Madinat Jumeirah Resort”.

In line with the Madinat Jumeirah District’s look and feel, Madinat Jumeirah Living will “mirror” the design aspects of the Resort, and reflect Dubai’s “early cultural heritage”.

These details were revealed on the sidelines of the Cityscape Global 2018 exhibition, inaugurated on 2 October by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and chairman of Dubai Executive Council. In a statement, Dubai Holding said the Crown Prince visited its exhibition stand at Dubai World Trade Centre.

Commenting on the project, HE Abdulla Ahmed Al Habbai, chairman of Dubai Holding said: “Madinat Jumeirah Living is a natural extension to the hugely successful entertainment, hospitality, retail, tourism, and lifestyle proposition of the Madinat Jumeirah resort, which we have built and enhanced over the years.

“Dubai Holding is now elevating the masterplan of the prime Jumeirah district, taking it further to both address the demand of luxury living and to fully realise its potential as a truly holistic and world-class destination.”
