Podcast: What is the future of sustainable construction?
Is the Middle East's construction sector ready to build green?
The future of sustainable construction will face unprecedented challenges as the global population booms to nearly 10 billion people in 2050, but what is the industry doing about it?
In this podcast, Construction Week's deputy editor and senior reporter respectively, Oscar Rousseau and Jack Ball, look at the innovations improving sustainable development, from drones and laser-guidance systems to biomaterials and humidity harvesting.
Some of the most environmentally conscious projects in the UAE, such as the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park and Expo 2020 Dubai's Sustainability Pavilion, are reviewed in this episode. The editorial team also looks at investment pouring into sustainable construction, after the UAE agreed to invest millions of dollars into green development between 2019 and 2021.
