Podcast: Saudi and UAE nuclear energy projects progress
Saudi Arabia's nuclear ambitions go under the spotlight in CW's latest podcast episode, which also reviews Barakah's progress
Milestones have been reached by Saudi Arabia and the UAE as two of the Middle East's biggest economies look to join the list of global powers boasting nuclear energy capabilities.
The latest episode of Construction Week Viewpoint sees a return of regular co-hosts Oscar Rousseau and Jack Ball, who analyse news that Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince HRH Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz has set out plans to build the kingdom's first nuclear research reactor.
The Crown Prince reportedly laid the foundation stone for the research reactor at the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology on 5 November, state news agency SPA reported.
Meanwhile, an important construction benchmark was achieved at the UAE’s Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant this month after concrete work and heavy equipment lifting was completed by the teams on site.
