Emrill has opened a state-of-the-art training base in Dubai as part of plans to drive staff development and quality-driven growth.

Located in Al Quoz, the Emrill Centre of Excellence contains both BICSc-certified and NICEIC-accredited training and assessment rooms and will give students a place for hands-on experience in facilities management alongside a range of classroom-based and digital training.

Last year alone, we delivered 134,667 training man-hours [...] which led to an increase of 17% in internal staff promotions.

The centre also contains common spaces and rooms for collaboration, workshops, seminars and open learning sessions.

Training programmes cover both hard and soft services, as well as interactive training courses for SIRA-certified security guards.

Emrill’s managing director, Alex Davies, said: “In the highly competitive FM industry, a key differentiator for Emrill is the quality of our people combined with the high level of training customisation we offer, which sets us apart in the industry. Last year alone, we delivered 134,667 training man-hours, an increase of 4.87%, which led to an increase of 17% in internal staff promotions.”

The new facility is significantly larger and more technologically-advanced than Emrill’s previous training centre and consists of real-life environment training rooms with housekeeping, concierge, office and engineering mock-ups, plus colour-coded static displays of equipment and materials. Digital learning has also been implemented.

Sarah Rodgers, who recently took over as head of soft services at Emrill, and is responsible for the Learning & Development Department, added: “Our objective is to create a world class working environment where continuous learning and development can take place; where employees gain more fulfilment from their roles, and develop intrinsic motivation to contribute to the organisation’s objectives.”

The opening of the training base follows Emrill’s landmark decision earlier this year to open satellite BICSc-certified training rooms at selected client sites, including Dubai International Airport, to fully embed internationally-recognised training standards into working environments.
