Deputy Ruler of Dubai inaugurates The Big 5 2018 show
The 39th edition of the event is under way at Dubai World Trade Centre
Attendees of the ongoing Big 5 2018 exhibition appeared undeterred by the rains that continued in the UAE this morning, with hundreds of building industry professionals lining up to visit the event at Dubai World Trade Centre.
HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance and Industry of the UAE, inaugurated the 39th edition of the exhibition, which is being held on 26-29 November, 2018, in the city.

Five exhibitions make up The Big 5 2018 show, including HVAC R Expo, dedicated to the heating, ventilating, air-conditioning, and refrigerating industries; The Big 5 Solar, dedicated to solar systems for construction; Urban Design and Landscaping Expo; The Big 5 Heavy, dedicated to infrastructure and heavy construction technologies; and Middle East Concrete.
More than 2,500 exhibitors and 30 country pavilions are currently at the event, where more than 23,000 construction projects worth $2.3tn from the GCC are expected to be sourced.
Speakers attending the event include officials from Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, in addition to Virgin Hyperloop One, Microsoft, Saudi Aramco, Faithful+Gould, Aecom, ASGC, Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, and Mont Hill. Many of these experts are due to speak at The Big 5’s inaugural Future Tech Construction Summit, which is being held under the theme of ‘Empowering Innovation in the Construction Ecosystem’.

Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) experts in attendance at the show are representing organisations such as Ashrae Falcon Chapter, Trox, Zamil Industrial, Coolex, Fawaz, SKM Air Conditioning, Finpower, Khansaheb, and Technalco. Dr Omar Abdelaziz, Ashrae’s global training centre instructor, adds to the line-up of MEP experts at The Big 5 2018.
