More than 1,000 construction job vacancies are currently available in Saudi Arabia, one of the Gulf's largest building markets with projects such as Neom and Qiddiya [representational image of Riyadh city].

More than 1,000 jobs across various construction disciplines – such as mechanical and electrical engineering, project management, quantity surveying, and cost consulting – are currently open and up for grabs in Saudi Arabia.

This may come as little surprise, with ambitious projects such as the $500bn (SAR1.9tn) Neom city gigaproject and the 334km2 Qiddiya megaproject taking up much of the spotlight as the country looks to diversify economically.

The expansion of the Grand Mosque in Makkah; The Avenues – Al Malqa, Mall of Saudi – An Narjis; and Saudi Arabia National Guard’s villas in Riyadh; and Darb Al Harmain and Jeddah Downtown Phase 1 in Jeddah are other notable projects.

These follow Saudi Aramco's recently launched King Salman Energy Park (Spark), launched by the Saudi Crown Prince HRH Mohammed Bin Salman on 10 December, 2018.

Indeed, as GCC’s largest country, Saudi has more than 5,000 active construction projects worth $819bn (SAR3tn), it was recently revealed.

Additionally, transport and oil and gas sector projects are also noting growth in the kingdom.

These are only some of the 5,200 projects currently under way in Saudi Arabia, where construction employment is consequently on the up. In this article, Construction Week rounds up the top 10 construction jobs that will be available in Saudi Arabia during December 2018.
