Emicool boss to lead Dubai building materials company

Abdulaziz Bin Yagub Al Serkal is the new CEO of Dubai Investments' building materials division

Abdulaziz Bin Yagub Al Serkal has been named chief executive officer of Dubai Investments' building materials division.

Al Serkal is currently the chairman of Dubai Investments subsidiary Emirates District Cooling, commonly known as Emicool.

In his new role, he will lead the building materials platform which oversees a portfolio of Dubai Investments-owned subsidiaries that provide equipment, materials, and solar energy technology to the Gulf's construction sector.

Dubai Investments said the subsidiaries also supply glass, aluminium, steel structures, polystyrene insulation, and range of other construction-related materials.

Prior to becoming chief executive officer, Al Serkal served as a general manager of Dubai Investments, as well as the chief of sister company Masharie, an investment house specialising in mergers and acquisitions. 

Alongside being the chairman of Emicool, Al Serkal sits of the board of directors for Dubai Investments Industries, Dubai Investments Real Estate,  Al Taif Investments, Al Mal Capital, and Al Qudra Sports Management.
