The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and the Institute of Refrigeration (IOR) will be working together to develop and promote excellence in the refrigeration and air conditioning aspects of building services.

CIBSE president David Hughes said: "CIBSE is delighted to be working with the IOR and believes that refrigeration and air conditioning play an important role within the building services industry.

"This agreement will allow our organisations to better understand the way in which we can work together to promote and develop excellence."

The two Institutions have signed a Memorandum of Understanding signalling the progression of increased communication and collaboration on key issues within the industry.

IOR president, Dr Guy Hundy added: "The IOR is keen to extend the benefits it offers to its members and sees collaborative arrangements such as this as an important strategic move. We know that there is much overlap in the interests of CIBSE and IOR members and we are pleased that we will be working together to serve those interests further in the future."
