Al Jaber Engineering and Contracting LLC has won a contract to build a key hospitality complex on Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island.

The company will start work on the 75,000 square-metre Park Hyatt Hotel and Villas Abu Dhabi development immediately, with completion on the project scheduled for the first quarter of 2011.

Awarded by Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH), the contract involves the construction of a 316-room hotel, along with suites, villas and restaurants, as well as conference facilities.

Located adjacent to the Cultural District, the complex will also be surrounded by a golf course.

“We wanted an exceptional partner for this unique hospitality project, and Al Jaber’s top-notch experience, deep sector understanding, skilled team and extensive track record in masterminding some of the UAE's highest-quality hospitality projects were decisive factors in our choice," said ADNH chairman HE Saif Mohammed Al Hajeri.

"With Abu Dhabi poised to be the regional leading destination for tourists, holiday-makers and business travellers, there is a growing need for luxury properties in the UAE capital. Park Hyatt will be a vital addition to ADNH's portfolio of high-end hotels and resorts," Al Hajeri added.
