Utilities plant win for Zelan

Malaysia's Zelan and Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries have secured a US $268 (SR1.6 billion) contract for a substantial portion of the onshore and offshore civil works for Saudi Arabia's water and power plant project in Shuqaiq

Malaysia's Zelan and Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries have secured a US $268 (SR1.6 billion) contract for a substantial portion of the onshore and offshore civil works for Saudi Arabia's water and power plant project in Shuqaiq.

The contract involves engineering, procurement and construction of the plant as part of phase two of the project.

Zelan will undertake offshore works to design and build the intake box culverts, discharge channel and fuel oil supply facilities.

Work will begin in March and take 42 months to complete.
