Emcor Facilities Services has secured the contract to provide the dedicated FM for the National Exhibition Centre in Abu Dhabi.

The contract will ensure that all infrastructure, operations and maintenance services are managed for the prominent events scheduled to be hosted at the exhibition centre during 2007.

“Many companies are appreciating the benefits that can be achieved by outsourcing their facilities management requirements as this innovative approach reduces costs, enables the effective management of key employees and subcontractors, provides greater service and quality standards and assurances and essentially provides companies with a competitive advantage, said Scott Wilson, managing director of Emcor Facilities Services.

The exhibition centre project is being undertaken in three phases and is expected to complete by 2009.

Once complete, it will offer 55,000m2 of interconnecting hall space, 18,000m2 of air conditioned concourse, an 8,000m2 high specification multi-purpose hall for conferences and events, 2,000m2 of executive office space and a brand new food court making it one of the largest exhibition centres in the Middle East.

Commenting on the recent appointment, Simon Horgan, chief executive officer of ADNEC said: “We are delighted to agree a deal with another of the worlds leading venue service suppliers; this helps meet our objective of providing the exhibition centre with the highest standards of quality in every aspect. Our alliance with EFS will provide a total lifecycle of care for the venue.

Emcor Facilities Services is the latest company to sign with ADNEC as it leads up to the venues premiere for IDEX – one of the worlds largest defence exhibitions, in February 2007.

Later in the year, the centre will host Working Buildings Middle East – an exhibtion aimed at all professionals involved in the running, maintenance and management of buildings and property.
