German Formwork Technology (GFT) has won a contract to supply its systems to the US $165 million (AED606 million) Golf Gardens project in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi, CW has learned.

GFT is currently providing formwork to 33 low-rise properties within the development, which will form part of a massive residential project within the Abu Dhabi Golf Club.

The main contract went to Pivot Engineering, which is set to complete its work in Q2 of 2011.

“Construction of walls and slabs of the residential buildings began in September and this was the month we started to supply our formwork systems,” said GFT general manager Adel Mir Riahi.

Pivot Engineering is also the main contractor for the 389 villas package within the Golf Gardens development.
