Companies in the region need to stand out from the crowd says firm
A chilled water valves company has emphasised the importance of a firm having a specialty in order to stand out from the competition.
“The challenge with this market is that there are so many other companies competing so it is good to have a specialty in for people to notice you,” said Emelee Santiago, techno-commercial director at Overtrop.
“We do not have the lowest prices but we do have better quality from our product and Overtrop is a well known brand for valves. We are requested for by contractor,” she added.
Santiago also revealed that business has stayed reasonably steady, due to the constant need for products such as valves in the market. “We are a distributor of chilled water valves and this market has been OK because in construction these are extremely important,” she stated.
The company provides its product to different types of developments from infrastructure to residential and hotel projects.
The firm is a German company and distributors in the Middle East are able to rely on backing from the headquarters in Europe, should it be required.
“It depends on the project, but is there is a problem with design or there is something very technical involved in the work that is proving difficult, the German experts can come over and help out with that service,” said Santiago.
Overtrop reported that it had seen plenty of interest in its stand at The Big 5 and this had resulted in a number of leads for the company.
