Clipsal expands ME operations

Schneider Electric has announced plans to expand its operations in the Middle East.

Schneider Electric has announced plans to expand its operations in the Middle East. The Clipsal electrical accessories division is a central focus to the move, with major expansions underway at its Sharjah facility.

The firm recently added a 9,290m2 distribution centre to serve the Middle East and Africa and has secured further land  for additional planned expansions.

The extrusion capacity of pvc conduits at Clipsal Middle East’s Sharjah plant will be increased from 175km/day to 300km/day during 2007. This follows continued growth by the firm since 2003: “Our business has recorded an average growth of 60-65% for the last four years,” stated Clipsal Middle East CEO Lalu Samuel.

“With the support of Schneider and the strong brand image of Clipsal, we will be able to achieve a clear leadership position in the market,” Samuel added.

Jean-Pascal Tricoire, chair of the management board and CEO of Schneider Electric-France added that a diversification of products is expected to add further organic growth, with moves in the intelligent building market.

In addition to growing the firm organically, Tricoire confirmed that Schneider will be looking to make further acquisitions to strengthen its portfolio.
