Dewalt has built five new heavy-duty XRP hammer drills with significant performance, chuck and durability enhancements.

The XRP line includes two 18V models - the DC925KB and DC920KB - one 14.4V model (DC935KB), and two 12V models (DC945KB and DC940KB).

According to the company, the new drills provide end-users with a substantial increase in speed of application versus the existing line of XRP drills. This advantage will be most noticeable to professional contractors when completing applications that require large diameter bits such as self-feed and ship auger bits. In order to obtain this speed of application advantage, Dewalt has built each drill with a high power, high efficiency motor that delivers maximum performance in drilling and fastening applications. It has also made improvements to the transmission, allowing it to handle the increase in power. The new XRP drills have a dramatically increased runtime and are designed to work day in day out in all weather; the new units come with 2.6Ah NiMH batteries, and a 30-minute charger.
