Six new schools for Al Ain
Dewan Architects win contract to build six new schools in Al Ain
An Abu Dhabi firm has been given the go ahead to design six schools in Al Ain.
Dewan Architects and Engineers, the firm behind Dubai’s Creek Towers and Plaza, was selected for the project by the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), who recently unveiled plans to build 100 new schools in the emirate.
Dewan chairman Mohamed Al Assam said his firm was delighted to have been chosen by ADEC, and said that Dewan had tried to design buildings that were economical and easy to maintain, while also being environmentally friendly.
“Schools need to be designed and constructed with so many different functions and aspects in mind, so as to create an environment that encourages the development of our youth on a variety of levels,” he said.
Each of the ADEC-approved schools will cater for between 1,225 and 1,500 students from grade six to 12, four will be for girls and the remaining two for boys,
