DMA reveals plans for Cityscape Abu Dhabi
The government body will showcase 30 projects at the event
The Department of Municipal Affairs in Abu Dhabi, along with Abu Dhabi Municipality, Al Ain Municipality and the Western Region Municipality will showcase 30 projects at Cityscape Abu Dhabi this year.
The government bodies will display their plans for infrastructure and landscape development and give an overview of the highly anticipated Abu Dhabi Green Building Codes, due to be implemented this year.
“The building codes will provide a better quality of life across the emirate of Abu Dhabi, and will spread a new culture of climate sensitive, durable, high performance ‘green’ buildings among the construction and investment companies,” Department of Municipal Affairs chairman Rashed Mubarak Al Hajeri told ConstructionWeekOnline.com.
“We are working harder, smarter and more effectively to deliver a better quality of life and to achieve a sustainable living environment in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, and Cityscape is a great opportunity to develop a sense of interest in the sustainability projects taking place in the city.”
Last month, Construction Week reported that the organisors of Cityscape Abu Dhabi expect that areas of interest at the show are likely to include hospitality and housing for nationals.
“We also expect to see some high profile announcements on the progress of major developments, but the general themes will be around joint ventures and partnerships,” David Dudley, head of Jones Lang LaSalle in Abu Dhabi.
