Techno Steel wins swimming deal

UAE-based contractor Techno Steel Construction been awarded Dubai Municipality’s US $12.8 million (AED47 million) project to build four ‘semi Olympic-sized’ swimming pools in four sports clubs in Dubai.

UAE-based contractor Techno Steel Construction been awarded Dubai Municipality�s US $12.8 million (AED47 million) project to build four ‘semi Olympic-sized� swimming pools in four sports clubs in Dubai.

Abdullah Ahmed Al Najar, head of projects, construction section, DM, said: “The swimming pools are going to be half the size of Olympic pools and are meant strictly for training purposes and not for tournaments.

Four of these pools will be built by Techno Steel at four clubs in Dubai including Al Ahli, Al Wasl, Shabab and Al Nasr.�

 

The new facilities, which are expected to be completed in August 2007, will offer coaching to swimmers in Dubai in line with international standards, according to DM.

Al Najar added that the project comprises of a training facility at each of the four clubs.

Each site will consist of a swimming pool with a total area of 312.5m2, a stadium with a capacity for 340 people, a health club, cafeteria, changing rooms, toilets and administrative offices.
