Al Ahmadiah Contracting has picked up the $272 million (AED998 million) main contracting package for Al Fajer Properties' five Jumeirah Business Centre towers, located in Jumeirah Lakes Towers.

The contract was awarded following a due diligence process, including public tender offerings and several rounds of prequalification, which drew bid submissions from 10 contractors. The estimated completion date for the project is December 2008.

Al Ahmadiah was selected for its uncompromising quality of workmanship and excellent project history.

"Al Ahmadiah's track record of delivering luxury projects in the UAE on time was a deciding factor in their selection as the main contractor for this landmark project," said Dr Shahram Abdullah Zadeh, CEO, Al Fajer Properties.

"We look forward to working closely on Dubai's first five-star freehold office chain development that will assure our valued investors of Al Fajer's commitment to quality."

Al Ahmadiah currently has a team of over 8,000 employees. It has worked on projects including Jumeirah Beach Residence, Al Murooj Complex, Jumeirah Hilton and Ibn Battuta Mall's Persia, China and Egypt court.

"We are proud to have been named as the main contractor for the five Jumeirah Business Centre towers development, a unique and pioneering project," said the company's managing director, S K Joshi.
