Ras Al Khaimah is home to one of the UAE’s best-known success stories. RAK Ceramics, one of the Gulf’s home-grown manufacturers produces tiles and sanitary ware that is used world wide.

The company started out in 1991 and has managed a heady pace of growth since then. Starting from scratch, the company has grown to employ more than 3000 people in a plant that has expanded to cover two million m2.

With exports to 150 countries worldwide and an appetite for extending its product ranges into other areas of the industry, RAK Ceramics has had to expand its production capacity onto the international stage. Manufacturing plants in China, Bangladesh and Sudan help satisfy the demands of these localised markets.

The Ras Al Khaimah plants alone produce around 227,000 m2 of tiles and more than 8500 pieces of sanitary ware per day. Global production of tiles exceeds 360,000 m2 of tiles and 11,500 pieces of sanitary ware per day, making RAK Ceramics’ one of the largest multinationals in the world manufacturing ceramic and porcelain tiles,
and sanitary ware.
