EIMA completes fire training on The World
Staff have been trained to extinguish fire and search and rescue.
A fire fighting training course for the staff on The World Cruise Ship has been completed in Dubai.
The one-day programme, conducted by Emirates International Maritime Academy (EIMA) covered extinguishing different types of fire, search and rescue, familiarisation with fire fighting equipments, crowed management, and the use of breathing apparatus.
"We are increasing our efforts in developing training activities for different types of marine craft operators in the region. These courses provide basic training as well as update and refresh the expertise, skills and knowledge in light of new developments in boating technology and know-how,” said EIMA director Jaafar Bin Sidin.
“With the massive infrastructure projects and maritime facilities being developed in the UAE and across the Gulf, it is important that we provide a parallel initiative that will enhance the practical and theoretical know-how of the entire boating community, particularly on aspects concerning safety and the environment."
The World is a ship, which slowly travels the globe, serving as a home for residents from around 40 countries.
