Emirates Thermostone cranks up AAC growth

Emirates Thermostone has recently commenced construction on a second production line, which will enable the company to double its current annual production capacity of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) construction materials.

Emirates Thermostone has recently commenced construction on a second production line, which will enable the company to double its current annual production capacity of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) construction materials.

The expansion will see the company produce more than 500,000m3 annually.

Civil and electro-mechanical work has already commenced on the production line, which will feature machinery that has been sourced from suppliers in Germany, The Netherlands and China.

"Our second production line is well under way and we have made significant investments in our new machinery which has higher accuracy and lower wastage than typical models," said Ali Abdul Karim, general manager, Thermostone.

"Our technology is very popular with the construction industry; we are working hard and considering all available options to make sure that our supply matches the demand."

Emirates Thermostone operates one of the largest AAC production plants in the Middle East. But its annual production of 250,000m3 was not enough to satisfy the market demand for the AAC construction materials.

The company recently signed major contracts with some of the region's leading property developers who were, according to Emirates Thermostone, impressed with the structural and ergonomic benefits of the AAC technology.

"Thermostone's products are naturally resistant to fire, termites and fungal delay and are completely recyclable, making them popular with modern developers.

"Many more residents are also requesting that they live in a development that has been constructed with AAC stone as the material does not release pollutants or toxic substances that could affect the indoor air quality, even in a fire," Karim concluded.
