Cat launches four new D Series mini excavators
Construction equipment giant adds new compact machines to its arsenal
US heavy equipment giants Caterpillar has released a new range of mini excavators with better stability, load sensing hydraulics and carbon emissions compliant engines.
The new Cat D Series Mini Hydraulic Excavators replace the outgoing C Series machines and are designed for tight working environments on smaller sites, or for compact operations on larger projects.
There are four models in the new range: the 303.5D CR and 304 D CR are zero-tail-swing machines that keep the radius of the upper body between the width of the tracks while the 305D CR and 305.5C CR are compact radius machines that limit the upper-body tail swing over thr acks to 5.5 inches (104mm). All four are designed to reduce the machine’s operating footprint.
The two-mode auxiliary hydraulic system comes as standard and means that operators can switch between single and bi-directional systems for working with a wide range of tools and attachments.
The new models come equipped with engines that meet the U.S. EPA Tier-4 Interim and E.U. Stage-3A emissions regulations
