Summertown Interiors has completed the fit-out of new offices for the Kongsberg Group in a record 35 days.

Norwegian maritime specialist, Kongsberg, selected a 800m² space in Dubai Investment Park for its first premises in the Middle East. Summertown Interiors created individual fit-outs over three distinct areas: an executive area, a space that would accommodate superior training facilities, and an engineering section that met the operational needs of the company’s specialist team.

Conscious of the need to deliver a unique look and feel for meeting spaces, Summertown introduced broad-based open plan work areas, as well as more intimate meeting rooms, high-table breakout areas and informal soft seating areas, as well as the more conventional board room style meeting facility.

“For Kongsberg, it was vital for us to have an interior fit-out solution that spoke of our strong European heritage and also embraced the company’s open and forward-thinking attitude. With the diverse nature of our business spanning various specialist areas from marine automation and cargo management to training simulators and position reference systems, not only are our company requirements incredibly specific but we are under principle to meet the procedural and precise standards that are commonplace within the maritime industry.

“We were not only delighted with the acute sensitivity Summertown Interiors had towards these needs, but it was remarkable the way the fit-out was executed and turned around in such a short space of time, within budget and with only the finest in first-rate materials that were approved by us personally. It was this level of organization and co-ordination in developing such an advanced, supreme office environment in a project of this nature that was truly to Summertown’s credit,” commented Jorn Mastervic, managing director, Kongsberg Maritime Middle East.
