Archial bought by Igenium Group
Archial and subsidaries bought by architectural mega-firm
A British firm that went into administration last week has been bought by the privately held Igenium Group.
The firm, which counts NORR, Giffels and CION among its company brands, has bought the majority of UK business and assets of Archial Group, and its subsidiaries, Archial Holdings, Archial Architects, Archial Resources and Alsop Sparch.
“The purchase of Archial is in line with our corporate strategy of focused and measured expansion around the globe,” said Victor Smith, president and CEO of the Ingenium Group. “We have been seeking a UK company to form the regional base for our international work and are delighted that Archial will serve to realise that goal for our company.”
The newly acquired organization has been registered as Ingenium Archial and will operate under the name of Archial and Alsop Sparch. Christopher Littlemore will continue as CEO and Victor Smith will take on the role of executive chairman.
“We believe that this transaction promises a bright future,” stated Christopher Littlemore, CEO of Archial. “By combining forces with the Ingenium Group, we join a global company that shares our passion and expertise in both design and project management.”
Archial boasts a massive body of work in the UK, as well as a few projects in the Middle East, including the Rihan Heights development in Abu Dhabi, which is currently under construction.
Sources confirmed to Construction Week last week that the Middle Eastern projects, which were being developed by Archial subsidiary Sparch, would not be affected.
The Ingenium Group has 14 offices in Canada, the United States, the Middle East, and Asia and works in the fields of architecture, engineering, land use and development planning, interior design, project management, construction, design-build and partnership services.
