ETA scoops first MEP Contractor of the Year award

ETA M&E, the mechanical and electrical division of ETA Ascon, was announced as the MEP Contractor of the Year at the 2006 Construction Week Awards.

ETA M&E, the mechanical and electrical division of ETA Ascon, was announced as the MEP Contractor of the Year at the 2006 Construction Week Awards.

The firm was singled out by the judges for its work on the Emirates Airline Hangar project, a US $353 million (AED1.3 billion) engineering centre on the north side of Dubai International Airport.

Further contract wins for the firm include the $273 million m&e package for the Burj Dubai in a consortium including Voltas and Hitachi, plus electromechanical works on the Emirates Towers.

Director Hameed Salahuddin and senior executive director (M&E Division) Ashok Agarwal were presented withthe award at a gala dinner in Dubai's Al Murooj Rotana Hotel. The award was sponsored by Unigulf Development.
