Saudi Arabia's National Program to Support the Management of Projects in Public Entities (Mashroat) will provide consultancy and technical support services for construction projects by the kingdom’s Public Prosecution following the signing of a memorandum of understanding.

According to an Arabic-language statement by Mashroat, the agreement aims to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the kingdom’s national infrastructure projects, in line with the goals of the Vision 2030 modernisation programme.

The signing ceremony was attended by assistant undersecretary of the Public Prosecution, Shaikh Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Muqbel, and Mashroat’s director-general, Ahmed bin Mutair Al-Balawi.

Mashroat was set up to improve the government’s capital expenditure and support the project management offices of government entities as they develop and improve related policies.

Speaking on the agreement, director of development at the Public Prosecution, Ali bin Mohammed Al-Fadhli, said: “The agreement we have signed with Mashroat is in line with our efforts to build our projects in accordance with the best practices in the fields of project management, operation, and maintenance.

"We also seek to establish a flexible environment to maximise project delivery.”

Mashroat's Al-Balawi added: “Through these agreements, we seek to enable the public sector’s project and facilities management departments to manage their projects and facilities with greater efficiency and effectiveness.”

The Mashroat director-general also noted that the group had, to date, signed agreements with 26 public agencies.

The cooperation follows a royal decree No. 47004, dated 31 May, 2018, which orders public entities to set up project management offices with which Mashroat can follow up, coordinate, and manage projects to ensure effective delivery.
