Dubai's hotel market continues to grow.

Indian hospitality chain Oyo Hotels & Homes will increase the number of its total rooms under management to 12,000 in 150 hotels in the UAE by 2020 as part of a GCC expansion powered by growing demand for the company's services from global markets such as India and China, which make up 25% of its total bookings, according to a company official.

Since its UAE launch in 2018, Oyo's local portfolio has grown to 1,700 rooms in 80 hotels and homes.

According to a report by Construction Week's sister title Arabian Business, Oyo’s regional head in the Middle East, Manu Midha, said: “We are witnessing a sustained increase in bookings from some of the countries, especially from India and China, since we established our footprint in UAE.”

Stating also that Oyo was working with UAE asset owners to accommodate market demand, Midha continued: “Dubai is set to attract 25 million visitors by 2025, and these visitors will comprise of a mix of trade and leisure visitors.

"With close to 190 nations signed up for the multi-billion dollar Expo 2020 Dubai, we are confident that we will be able to support the inbound trade visitors.”
