Chief executive officer for the Middle East and Africa region at Aecom is Hamed Zaghw, who took over the senior role in October 2016.

Zaghw tells Construction Week that in order to accelerate site photography, the firm is currently developing and using a reality capture tool. He is optimistic that in 2019, the use of this tool will be extended beyond the Middle East and Africa.

In 2018, the company worked on projects including Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi and Damac Heights in Dubai. Aecom is also the construction, supervision, and contract-management consultant for Abu Dhabi’s Midfield Terminal project.

The company, which employs 497 engineers, says securing “staffing for projects in Saudi Arabia” has been a key challenge during the past 12 months.
