2019 CW Power 100: Ahmed Osman of DeSimone ranked #73
Managing principal of DeSimone Consulting Engineers retains his position in CW's annual ranking
DeSimone Consulting Engineers can boast a portfolio comprising high-profile UAE developments such as Wasl Tower in Dubai; Saadiyat Island Resort Development, Adnoc Medical Centre, and Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque New Visitor’s Centre and Plaza in Abu Dhabi; and South Dhahram Housing and Community, and King Abdullah Financial District Museum of the Built Environment in Saudi Arabia.
Led by managing principal Ahmed Osman, the structural engineering firm has also worked on Kuwait’s Al Wafra Seef and Khiran Pearl Development projects, as well as Al Ain Wildlife Park Resort & Residences, and Sheikh Khalifa Mosque in the UAE.
Founded in New York in 1969, DeSimone Consulting Engineers provides structural and façade engineering, and forensic and multi-disciplinary property loss consulting services, for most types of buildings and equipment. The company today has offices in the US, South America, Asia, and the Middle East.
DeSimone’s work for South Dhahram Housing and Community – a Saudi Aramco project that was designed by international planning, design, and consulting firm Perkins Eastman – was delivered from the company’s Dubai office.
DeSimone Consulting Engineers is also working on the UAE’s 63-storey, mixed-use Wasl Tower, on which UN Studio has worked as architect. DeSimone’s Abu Dhabi and Dubai offices are delivering structural design services for the project, which also features two basement levels.
