2019 CW Power 100: Dr Najib Khatib of Khatib & Alami is #75
Chairman and CEO of Khatib & Alami moves up in 2019 Construction Week Power 100
Dr Najib Khatib has been the chairman and chief executive officer of Khatib & Alami for the past eight years, having worked for a total of 23 years at the multi-service construction consultancy to date.
The number of full-time qualified engineers that Khatib oversees stands at 2,478 in 2019 – a sizeable increase on last year’s corresponding figure of 2,036.
While the group serves the whole of the region, Khatib says its largest markets are Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
“There continues to be huge potential for those consultants that are able to combine high-quality technical expertise with value for money,” he tells Construction Week.
“For this reason, 2019 will see us push even harder to be at the forefront of innovation and digital technologies, which can help us bring synergies, efficiency, and productivity gains, as well as new business line offerings.”
The past 12 months have represented a particularly successful period for Khatib & Alami, which in March was awarded Commercial Project of the Year honours at the Construction Week Oman Awards 2019.
March also saw the consultancy’s profile raised through its involvement in the Abu Dhabi 2019 Special Olympics World Summer Games, which brought together athletes from 195 participating nations.
Khatib & Alami teamed up with event organisers to develop a smart wayfinding and information app for visitors attending the eight-day event at Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre.
