Podcast: McDermott, Hyundai E&C among H1 2019's busy EPC firms
Construction Week Viewpoint podcast episode explores the GCC's top oil and gas contracts of the first-half of this year
Activity in the Middle East's oil and gas sector has picked up in the last few weeks, and this episode of Construction Week Viewpoint, a weekly podcast show hosted on Construction Week's Soundcloud channel, discusses the major contract wins recorded by America's McDermott, South Korea's Hyundan Engineering & Construction (Hyundai E&C), and Italy's Saipem, so far in July 2019.
The discussion was led by Construction Week’s senior reporter, Jack Ball, alongside features writer, Ashley Williams, who discussed how the Middle East is diversifying energy sources to ensure its economies are more robust and have diversified revenue streams.
The podcast includes details of McDermott's recent wins of two engineering, procurement, construction, and installation contracts from Saudi Arabia's state-held oil giant Saudi Aramco, for Packages 1 and 4 of its Marjan increment development.
Among the other contractors involved with the Marjan project were Hyundai E&C, which won contracts for Packages 6 and 12 of the development.
