Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Civil Service has reportedly announced a four-day holiday for the 89th celebrations of Saudi National Day, which is observed each year on 23 September to commemorate the renaming of Kingdom of Nejd and Hejaz to Saudi Arabia by a royal decree from King Abdul Aziz Ibn Saud in 1932.

According to Construction Week’s sister title Arabian Business, the holiday will start by the end of working hours on Thursday, 19 September, and work will resume on Tuesday, 24 September.

Saudi Arabia’s King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, for which extensive redevelopment work has been planned, hosted special A380 service of the UAE’s airline Emirates for Saudi National Day 2018.
