Sharjah is one of the UAE's Northern Emirates.

As part of its Northern Emirates expansion plan, UAE-based facilities management (FM) provider Emrill Services – equally owned by Dubai's Emaar Properties and Al Futtaim Real Estate Investment Company – has opened two offices in Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah (Rak), with chief executive officer of Emrill, Stuart Harrison — who was appointed in March 2019— stating that the move was in line with the company’s plans to grow in the UAE and capitalise on its position in Dubai’s FM sector.

In a statement, Emrill — which employs 7,500 people — said it would look to replicate its Dubai model in the Northern Emirates.

Harrison explained: “For Emrill, expanding with new offices in Sharjah and Rak is well-timed and demonstrates the company’s commitment to our long-term business strategy.

“While Sharjah and Rak are still relatively small markets for FM when compared to Abu Dhabi and Dubai, we are expecting the sector to grow significantly as government campaigns and strategies are implemented."

According to Harrison, new developments in Rak would drive up demand for FM services in the emirate.
