Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO) has signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) and Abu Dhabi Centre for Waste Management (Tadweer) to ensure the vocational and operational rehabilitation of people of determination as part of National Empowerment Policy, with their aims expected to be accomplished through the recycling of empty plastic containers to allow people of determination to contribute to the community.

Abdullah Abdulali Al Humaidan, secretary general of ZHO, Suwaidan Rashid Al Dhaheri, chief executive officer of Musanada, and Dr Salem Khalfan Al Kaabi, general manager of Tadweer signed the MoU at the headquarters of Zayed Centre for Agricultural and Vocational Rehabilitation, part of ZHO.

ZHO will train people of determination to carry out recycling operations of plastic containers.

A total of 20,000 plastic containers have been collected for the programme, and workshops have been established with adequate facilities to provide education and training for the project.

Qualified trainers and supervisors have also been appointed to oversee the collection and recycling processes, along with creating a database for this project and the total recycling efforts of ZHO, in cooperation with Musanada and Tadwee.

Musanada will encourage companies in its hospitality services division to cooperate with ZHO and provide technical support to the organisation, Tadweer, and its people of determination stakeholders to support their employment and professional stability.

Tadweer will offer its facilities in line with the approved operations system for the project, and has also accounted for health, safety, and environment requirements as part of the scheme.

ZHO’s Humaidan said the MoU was a result “of the invaluable guidance, wise leadership, and follow-up of HH Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors, in line with the strategic plan of the organisation, emanating from the Abu Dhabi Government's strategic plan”, according to UAE state news agency, Wam.
