Dubai South was launched by Government of Dubai in 2006, and operates an eponymous free zone spanning 145km2, with the firm recently named as one of the companies to be part of Higher Committee for Real Estate Planning, launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, earlier this month.

The masterplanned city is home to Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), and is the venue of Expo 2020 Dubai, which will open on 20 October 2020.
