Dubai Tram has served 28m commuters since 2014 launch

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that the Dubai Tram, which is marking its fifth anniversary on 11 November, has transported more than 28m commuters since its 2014 launch.

RTA has also commended the efforts of Serco, the tram operator, for the successful operation of the tram, which scored a 99.9% punctuality of service and achieved a 5-star rating in International Standards for Service Excellence (TISSE) in 2016.

According to the RTA, the tram has been a key component of rail systems and the public transport network in Dubai and has supported the emirate’s aim to make public transport the choice of mobility for Dubai’s visitors and tourists

In celebration of the fifth anniversary of Dubai Tram, RTA will be distributing prizes and gold bars to tram riders.
